|LIFE MOVES - THE FELDENKRAIS METHOD®|
|Using the Feldenkrais Method, you can
*Improve your posture and breathing
*Reduce stress, tension, and fatigue while easing pain and stiffness
*Free yourself from habitual patterns, of thought, emotion, and body
*Deepen your awareness in meditation and in movement
Anything that lives is always in movement. At the same time, movement itself contains life. Life Moves! By moving with minimum effort and maximum efficiency, not through muscular strength, you begin to integrate movement with thinking and feeling to expand your potential in other areas, such as creativity and problem solving.
The method is taught in two modalities. Awareness Through Movement: groups of people participate in a lesson together, guided by verbal directions. Functional Integration: the practitioner works only with one person, guiding the person’s body with words and gentle touch.
Moshe Feldenkrais, D.Sc. (1904-1984) engineer, martial artist, and educator, developed the method by studying the direct relationship between bodily movement and the ways we think, feel, learn, and act in the world. In almost half a century, tens of thousands of people worldwide have used his method successfully.
Barbara Wright, B.A., C.F.P., is a graduate of a four-year training in the Feldenkrais Method and has been teaching public and private sessions since 1997. She has taught classes and workshops in California, Colorado, and Wyoming.
